Doctrinal Statement
The Doctrine of the Scriptures:
We believe that the Bible is the inerrant, inspired Word of God and that it is our final authority in all matters of faith and practice. For reasons of textual reliability, we believe that God has preserved His Word for the English speaking people in the King James Version of the Bible.
2 Timothy 3:16-17, 2 Peter 1:20-21, Psalm 12:6-7
The Doctrine of the Person and Work of Jesus Christ:
We believe that Jesus Christ, eternally existing, is the only begotten Son of God, who became a sinless man to redeem us. He was born of a virgin and is fully God and fully man.
John 1:1-15, Philippians 2:5-8
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ accomplished our redemption through His finished substitutionary sacrifice on the Cross and that our justification is made sure by His literal, physical resurrection from the dead.
Romans 3:24-25, I Peter 2:24, I Peter 1:3-5
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ ascended to Heaven, and is now exalted at the right hand of God the Father. He is our High Priest, Advocate, and Intercessor.
Hebrews 9:24, Hebrews 7:25, Romans 8:34
The Doctrine of Salvation:
We believe that the clear message of salvation is “repentance toward God and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.” Salvation is by grace alone plus nothing. Men are justified by faith alone and are accounted righteous before God only through the perfect righteousness of Jesus Christ.
Acts 20:21, Ephesians 2:8-10, 2 Corinthians 5:21
The Doctrine of Eternal Security:
We believe that the truly saved are kept by the power of God and they are secure forever in Christ. Eternal life is the present possession of every believer. A believer can rest in the assurance of God’s salvation.
John 6:37, John 10:27-30, 1 Peter 1:4-9, 1 John 5:13
The Doctrine of Water Baptism:
We believe that the true believer is to follow the Lord’s commandment to be baptized by immersion in water. Biblical baptism is a symbol of the death, burial, and resurrection of our Lord. Baptism does not wash away sin, but is an answer of a good conscience toward God.
Matthew 28:18-19, Acts 2:38-41, 1 Peter 3:21
The Doctrine of the Church:
We believe that the local church is a group of baptized believers that are united to carry out the Great Commission. The church practices two Biblical ordinances: baptism and the Lord’s supper.
Matthew 28:18-20, Acts 1:8, 1 Corinthians 11:23-26
We believe that the local church is to be autonomous, and separate from corruption. We reject the Charismatic Movement, Ecumenism, and worldly forms of worship in our church.
2 Corinthians 6:17-18
The Doctrine of Human Sexuality:
We believe since God created mankind into genders distinctly male and female, the only legitimate marriage is that between a man and a woman. He has commanded that no intimate sexual activity be engaged in outside of marriage.
We believe that any form of homosexuality, lesbianism, bisexuality, bestiality, incest, fornication, adultery, and pornography are sinful perversions of God’s gift of sex.
We believe that God rejects any attempt to alter one’s gender by surgery or appearance.
Genesis 2:24, Romans 1:26-29, 1 Corinthians 6:13-20, 1 Thessalonians 4:1-8, Hebrews 13:4
The Doctrine of the End Times:
We believe Jesus Christ Himself will soon come again in the air to rapture His Church. The unbelievers left behind will go through a period called the Tribulation, after which Christ will return to the Earth to set up His Millennial Kingdom of one thousand years of righteous rule. After this, the unbelievers of all ages will stand at the Great White Throne to be judged and cast into the Lake of Fire, separated from God forever, while the believers spend eternity in the fullness of joy in Heaven with the Lord.
Matthew 24:29-42, I Thessalonians 4:16-18, Revelation 19:11-20:13
